Keeping it Classic with Wooden Toys

Keeping it Classic with Wooden Toys

I have to be honest on this one…I’ve been a little leery of wooden toys for my daughter. I love wooden carvings and all of our wood furniture, but when I think about wood toys, I always worried about splinters. Not sure why, but I did. There are many companies out there that have wood toys, but I never bought any of them for her. I guess part of me also thought that wood toys couldn’t be as cute as plastic toys.

Fast forward to trying out some toys from the Cubbie Lee Toy Company, and I’m realizing now that I was wrong on both fronts! Cubbie Lee sent me a tea set and dessert stand to try out with my daughter (because in case you didn’t know, I’m obsessed with play food, especially desserts, and I’m imparting that love onto Little Bear. ha!).

I was SO impressed with not only the quality and cuteness of the sets, but how well made these toys are! Because I had never given wooden toys a try, I never really considered the type of quality they really are. Now, if you have a biter/chewer, I’m sure these are probably not for you…but my daughter is not, and she really enjoyed these! I’m not sure she totally knows what to do yet, but I love that the tea set especially is an educational type of toy. The little cakes come together with velcro, and you can show your child how you cut a little cake in half and serve it up on the cute plates!

All in all these are a total winner! Check out my YouTube unpacking video below if you’re interested, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway for some Alphabet blocks from Cubbie Lee below, and try out these beautifully done wooden toys!!

Okay, I fear splinters too, but this is remarkable.

Yep! They’re SO cute! I’d only be worried about splinters if my daughter would start chewing on them or something! Thanks for entering!!!

I think wooden toys are still one of the best type of toys that we can teach our kids to play with. Of course after checking they don’t have any splinters or the pieces are too small otherwise I believe it’s many times a better option than buying plastic toys. Thank you so much for sharing this Meredith!
