Product Review + Giveaway: Greenplicity Personal Care Products {giveaway closed, congrats Dagmar!}

I’m always on the lookout for natural products: food, clothing, and especially skin care items. I just know that there are so many harsh chemicals out there, and while I don’t “care” as much about me (lame, I know), I really care about only giving my daughter the most all natural and safe products for her skin!

Greenplicity was founded in 2012, and is committed to producing only the safest products for babies and children’s sensitive and delicate skin. I had the opportunity to try out three of their products, and Greenplicity is giving away a prize pack for you to try for yourself! (see the bottom of the post to enter!)

The company makes three products that feature essential oils and all-natural ingredients: a Cocoa Citrus Lotion Bar, Body Butter, and Liquid Soap. I tried all three of these on myself and am sharing my opinions below.

The Cocoa Citrus Lotion Bar

This is the first time I’ve used a lotion bar, so it was a pretty new experience!

It comes in this cute little tin, and has the adorable Greenplicity feet on it. This bar smells like cocoa butter with a little hint of citrus–honestly one of the best things I’ve smelled in a while. It almost reminds me of one of those chocolate oranges from Christmas time that are wrapped in orange foil and break off into slices. Anyone know those?? If not, just think orange flavored chocolate…that’s what it smells like! (I wanted to eat it).

It’s sitting on a little doily, and since it’s slippery because duh, it’s solidified oil, I used the doily to help hold the bar without getting lotion on me.

I used this on my arms, legs and stomach. This is the bar after one use:

I would say that if used daily, it would probably last a month or so. The pros to this are that it’s all natural, smells and feels amazing going on the skin. It definitely leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. The bad, is that it’s really hard to hold on to, being a lotion bar. My hand was slipping around the doily, and some of the bar was coming through the paper. My recommendation would be to use a hand towel to apply this to make it easier to grip.

The Body Butter

This one surprised me…when I think of body butter, I think of a liquid cream or mouse. This body butter comes in a tub, but it’s a hard butter! Greenplicity has three scents for these butters: lavender, palmarosa and honeysuckle. I chose the honeysuckle because that’s one of my favorite scents!

You can kind of see the hard texture here below:

This is a very sheer butter though; it comes off in thin layers, and applies smoothly.

Here’s my hand after applying and rubbing in. You can see it on there, but it’s not too overly shiny.

This is a great body butter if you’re looking to try something with a different texture. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling too greasy afterwards, which is nice. The honeysuckle smell was lovely, too! The cons would be that you’re applying this with fingers (unless you’re the kind of person to stick a spatula in the tub and then use that, so you don’t contaminate it…if you do, kudos. I don’t have that kind of patience and maybe it’s why all of my stuff is germ contaminated…lol). Anyway, if you’re sticking your *potentially* dirty hands in and out of this tub, it could make the butter gross! I’d advise you to use the aforementioned spatula, but who am I kidding…I will 1) never remember and 2) never have time. Just use clean hands and hopefully you won’t get unwanted dog hair in your tub!

The Liquid Soap

These liquid soap body washes come in 8 or 16oz, and in a honeysuckle or lavender scent. Again I chose honeysuckle, but it really has more of a generic all-natural soap smell to me. Not at all unpleasant, but very natural smelling. If you’ve been inside a health food store, you know what I mean. It’s the smell of all natural, clean stuff. Not sure how else to better describe it.

Somehow or another I forgot to take a picture of the actual bottle, so I’ll have to upload it later; but you can see the bottle here on their site too!

This body wash is super thick when it comes out…This is about a quarter size, but it’s very thick. A little will go a long way! Plus, if you’re washing baby, you can use a dime sized amount and be fine!

Here’s a stickiness test…you can see how this it is! (see the little strands pulling apart from my fingers?)

I loved thick this stuff is. When I used it, I just added a bit to a washcloth and soaped it up. From there it was easy to scrub and clean. I enjoyed the very clean and natural smell this had, and it didn’t linger after I used it. If you’re looking for a baby body wash that isn’t filled with harsh chemicals and doesn’t leave a strong scent, this would be great for you!

LOL right?! That’s the only thing I could describe the smell as without saying “I just want to eat it instead of use it” 😀

These sound awesome! I will have to try that body butter since I don’t like the thick texture of a lot of butters. Thanks for the awesome review!

I have REALLY dry skin on my legs and this feels amazing–both the butter and the lotion. The bar I really can’t say enough about, because it just smells SO good, and it really does the job and makes me feel super moisturized!
