When do stretch marks go away?

If you’re looking for a “267 days” type of concrete answer to this question, I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed. The 100% honest-to-God truth is that the answer is so different for everyone. I have friends who never got stretch marks (lucky ladies, I know!!), friends that did and then they disappeared, and then friends whose stretch marks faded only after a long period of time.

I’ve read that they’re genetic, although I don’t buy that for a hot second. My mom didn’t get stretch marks, and I got them all over! The ones on my stomach I didn’t get until about 37 weeks of pregnancy, but the ones on my sides started appearing around 25-ish weeks.

While I don’t have an answer as to WHEN (or if) yours will go away, I do have an amazing product that I used religiously post-pregnancy. I’m now over 7 months postpartum, and my stretch marks are beginning to show significant fading! The best part is that the product I used is SUPER inexpensive, and I believe it really works. You can grab it at Target, or here it is on Amazon via my affiliate link. It’s the Palmer’s Scar Stick; super cheap, and a little goes a long way. I love that I don’t get cream on my hands since it’s in the stick format! I started using this a few weeks after giving birth, and just religiously began putting it on my sides and stomach after showering.

If you’re feeling bad about your marks, just remember who gave them to you, and think of them as a little token of remembrance. At least that’s what I do 🙂

I can totally relate to the side stretch marks.. Mine turns bright purple during pregnancy but slowly faded over time.. Thanks for the tips on a product that might help move the process along quicker.

Just takes time, right?! I really do think this helped a bit though! It’s nice to see them starting to fade, not gonna lie!

I’ve been using the Palmer’s lotion but never heard of this. I’ll have to try this.

I had it randomly sitting in the closet! It’s for scars, but it’s worked nicely!
