I’ve tried out a TON of diaper bags since having my daughter. I’m super picky, and if one little thing throws me off, I just discount the WHOLE bag! Weird, I know, but that’s just how I am. Every little thing has to be perfect!
I’ve been using a Vera Bradley bag that one of my best friends bought for me as a shower gift, and it’s been great. I’ve loved how huge it is, but I always wished it could turn into a backpack style bag so that both of my hands/shoulders could be free.
I found this Newlie Louise bag that I was lusting after, and Leslie (the creator!) agreed to send me one to review on the blog, and offered to host a giveaway (details at the end of the post!). I’m usually not good at picking out a bag from all the gorgeous photos online, but this one is a WINNER! It is such an amazing bag, and I love nearly every single thing about it!!
**I was provided this bag for free to review, but all opinions are 100% honest and my own**
To begin with, this bag KILLS IT with quality. It’s made of faux leather (you wouldn’t even know it’s fake. It feels and looks real!) and water resistant nylon (hello amazing wipe-the-junk-off capabilities!). The rubbed brass hardware is thick and heavy…this bag isn’t going to be breaking on you any time soon. And the zippers are buttery-smooth, so you’re not struggling trying to zip and close the bag.
The best part of the bag is that it can be carried three different ways:
Backpack style (my favorite)
The Louise is also aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I chose the black and grey option, and it’s just so gorgeous…and it does NOT look like a diaper bag! I’ve been carrying this around as much regular purse, and still feel like I’m keeping it stylish with how classy this bag looks.
There are 3 exterior pockets, two on the side which zipper, and one large one on the front of the bag which easily fit a travel pack of tissues, along with both of my phones (yes, I have two phones. Work and Play. lol).
Now for the inside of the bag! This bag is best packed vertically, which to be honest I wasn’t used to. My fold up placemat for my daughter that I take everywhere had to fit standing up versus laying down the way I’m used to packing it. Turns out, I actually love this, because it opens up the bag for MUCH easier organization!
The interior has 6 pockets, one of them being an AMAZINGLY huge insulated zippered pocket for fresh snacks, or colder drinks. This bag has every bit of potential to be my work bag if I’m traveling and not using it as a toddler bag! There’s so much room, and I can keep my own snacks and work stuff in there too!
So…If you’re interested in seeing more about the bag and what all I cram into it, check out my video reviews below. One is my unpacking video, the other is my packing and review video, and the last one is a video on how to anchor a messenger strap to your diaper bag so that your backpack handles won’t slip!
